The Lady or the Tiger Post

Although the question your classmates same up with is valid ( and not to take anyting away from them-the effort and intent is there), I want to post another. One purpose is to get you to think about how you question at a higher level regarding these stories. Please respond:

Do we choose our own paths or does fate play a role in our lives?

I belive that our decitions decide what the conciquense of our actions. I also believe that their is no such thing as fate or coinsidences. Our decitions now decide who we are later, as well as who we hang out with. like in the story the man had total controle of his futre, he could choose either door but he had no controle what was behind that door he choose.

I believe we choose our own paths. You can't go through life expecting some higher force to guide you, you need to make choices for yourslef. Although I do believe in fate and destiny but I also think you need to take control of your life and make your own fate. No one should decide how you live your life, because it's your decision. In the story when the man had to choose between the two doors maybe fate did let him live but it was his decision in the end and he had to go with what he thought was right.

I think that fate does play a role in our lives. Of course our decisions do change things, but say someone walking across a street and a drunk driver runs into the person. The person didn't decide to get hit by a car did they? I don't think so. Decisions do lead you down a certain path but the path can be changed by fate. I think our own decisions work together with fate to create our future.

I think that it's is a combination of both, but I mostly think it revoles around choice. I think this becasue we make decisions in our lives everyday that change our life, wether we are aware of it or not. But then I think that after we make our chioce fate plays a role and what happens is/was meant to be. Sometimes things happen that you chose to do but then the outcome isn't how you planned or what happened was not under your control, i think that is fate.

We choose our own paths, but fate is the thing that gets us there. Fate helps us if we need it or not. In everything we do fate is right there along side us. But we choose what we want to do and how, fate just gets us there.
I think in “The Lady or the Tiger” she choose which door he should walk through but fate lead her to that court. With the princesses lover he choose to be with the princess [have an affair], but fate choose which door he opened.

I think in some circumstances we choose our own paths and sometimes we reside on fate. Residing on fate isn't always the best idea to make because everyones luck runs out. Choosing yout own path is the logical thing to do because you use your mind to help you in times of need. So, choosing your own path and fate are both important to live on.

I believe that we choose our own paths in life. I mean sure fate takes its role in life but over all we should decide for our selves. Our decisions play a big role in life though. If you pick the wrong choice it might screw up your whole life, like in the story, he had to choose which door to open and that was pretty much a life and death situation. If he picked the door with the lion his life would be over, but if he picked the door with the lady his new life was just begining.

I dont think so. I beleive we decide our own future. It is our choice to do what we want and it takes the right or wrong choices to get there.

I think fate does play a role in our lives but we also chose our own paths. Fate leads you to chose the path you take. For example, you dont just run into decisions all the time. In order to get to the point where you have to make the decision fate has to lead you there.

I think that most things are up to fate but we get to deside the little things in life that don't matter as much. I also think that what we do now will effect our lifes in the furture whether you know it or not. In the story the man was in love with the princess not kowing that it will later make him have to choose between life or death.

I belive that we make are own decisions so we choose our own path. It is our job to do the right thing and to decided to do the right thing. So yes we do decided our own path not fate. It is not fate that makes it hard to do the right thing it is our friends and the people that we are around every day.

I think that we can make some of the decisions we make on our own but fate is the thing that chooses what actually happens in our decision making. And we do not choose our paths fate does that for us because even if we make a decision fate determines what is to come for us. Soyes fate does play a role in our lifes it can even determine our whole future by our decision making. And we can not do anything to keep fate from doing that because with each and every decision we make fate has an answer and a next step for that decision

I belive that it is our own choices not fate that get us through life. For example if some one gives me advise that I have even the slightest doubt that it could mess me up i forget that they even said that so that way I can consentrate on making in my opinion a wiser choice. Fate doesnt win teams multiple super bowls. Their hard work and determination do it. And to comit to that hard work is their choice. Fate has nothing to do with it.

I think that for the most part, we are creating a path for ourselves. Fate has nothing to do with it. Our descions make up our future. We pave our own paths by everyday choices. "Should I go out or should I stay home and study?" That sort of thing is what will have a later effect. Therefore, I need to be very careful and take each choice and descion seriously.

I think they both play a major part in our life. We make our own decisions but fate also makes some decisions for us. We can't live our life letting other people decide what we do with it or else we will never be plaesed with what we do. But on the other hand things happen for a reason and i belive fate has a lot to do with that. Like in this story, he made the decission of what door he wanted to open, but he couldn't control what was behind it. Fate did.

I defiantly believe fate plays a huge role in the lives of any living creature. Though I think you make your own decisions, some thing happens to make you lean towards one side. Karma also goes hand in hand with fate. When you do something wrong your fate is changed because you go from good karma to bad karma. For instance you throw your gum on the ground then you will step on gum later or something bad will happen. Then you will have to go to the bathroom and clean it off. This changes the path you were going to. This may cause you to meet a new friend. I don’t believe this all was caused by your decision but by fate. I also think fate has to do with your one true love. Such as you could meet them at a bar but did you choose that bar, a friend, or was it fate. It's fate, because something happened to persuade you to choose that bar. Fate is a cheesy subject but no doubt in my mind fate is a main part in our lives.

I think that we choose are own paths and fate dosen't. We move our bodies and tell it to do things. I don't think that some spirt tells us what to do. It's no like fate is going to tell us what is right from wrong, we just have to choose and hope it's the right choice.

I think that we decide our own fate by our actions. For example smoking creates lunge cancer and it is your choice to smoke. Or if you decide to drive drunk then your decisions have concequences. Sometimes even if you make good decisions but sometines it they don't turn out the way you had planned. Either way we are eventually going to die whether we want to face the fact or not. What really matters is whether you live your life the way that you want to and whether you live it to the fullest.

I believe that God has a plan for us. And that He knows what are "path" is in life and what is going to happen. I believe that he knows our future. Our lives are in his hands. But God does give us the liberty of our own choice. Although he knows what that choice is before we make it anyway.

I believe that we choose our own paths. It is up to us whether we have a good future or a not so good future. An example of this is school. It is our choice to wake up in the morning and go to school, when instead we could be sleeping. It is also our choice to either watch television or do our homework.
The definition of fate is “the power supposed to fix beforehand and control everything that happens.” I don’t believe that some kind of power can control our lives. I believe that our future is controlled only by us and our actions.

I think that we choose our own paths in life, not fate. Even when we are in situations like those in "The Lady or the Tiger", we have the ability to choose our own paths, they could have made different decisions so that they wouldn't have been in that situation in the first place. People may not know what, exaclty, will happen but they make the decisions in the first place. People do choose their own paths, because they make decisions for themselves.

In life i believe that we have already had are life chosen out for us. God has already planned our life. But we don't know what is going to happen in the future. So all we can do is make our decisons whether or not fate comes into that is not our choice or our dicsion. So i am going for both sides i think that we do make our own decsions and i think that we also have fate interact with our decsions.
